Hi All,

I bought 2020 E-Pace recently and I found there is a issue on switching driving mode (eco/comfort/dynamic....). I can switch the driving mode only when the car just started. After a while the driving mode will back to comfort mode and the driving mode switch will not work!!!!!!

Both vehicle and inControl are latest version, Does anyone has the same issue?

Hi

I had the same issue, I took it back to the dealer three times before they found out that a module was blocked and needed Jaguar to reprogram the module with new software, my advice is take it to the dealer and tell them. they will find it, don't wase your time as I did trying to work it out for yourself.

William.

hi @ jaymagician.

Same problem here, have changed the switch and found an issue with a CCF file they thought was the answer but still not fixed back in today with more suggestions from jaguar they say.
Will reply here if issue sorted.
Apologies if not posting right not really used to it.

Hi all! Had my 69 plate E-Pace D240 R-Dynamic now for just over a week and had a few problems switching to different drive modes other than Comfort mode! Looking at the software it's all up to date so not a lot I can do other than take it to dealer I think. Any other suggestions, am I doing something wrong?? Other small issue I have is the touch door locking is a bit hit and miss….. sometimes it works, sometimes I have to use the smart key to lock!
Complete newb to all this wizardry so any help is most welcome….. all in all I love the Cub :D

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and am having the same issue with my September 2019 E-Pace P200.

My dealer has recently replaced the drive mode selector, but the problem persists. The car reverts to comfort mode after about 20 minutes in some other mode. Further use of the drive mode selector merely results in the display panel reconfirming that comfort mode has been selected. Normal behaviour is restored by switching off the ignition for some 30 minutes, but the issue then recurs.

The dealer has asked me to take some videos of this behaviour but it does seem that they are stabbing around somewhat in the dark.

Has anyone any further news of a definite solution proposed by Jaguar? This does seem like a software bug or a microcontroller that is spontaneously resetting itself.

Thank you for any help.

We have the same problem with out 2019 P200.
I took it to the dealer who have booked the car in for a software upgrade.
They say the "patch file" can only be installed by connecting the car to the "Head Office" mainframe in the UK.
We are in Australia.
I will report on the result.

Good evening all
I have a jag e pace 2019
I’m having this exact issue where it will change the drive mode initially but then reverts back to comfort and is then locked in that mode
It has already been back to the jag dealer once for software updates, it’s back again next week has anyone ever got a resolution?
Thanks

Well, I think I have to join the club - I‘ve the same issua as paulpp described earlier: after ca. 5 minutes it converts back to comfort mode and then I cannot switch to any other mode until I restart the engine.

Anyone with a proper solution yet? Or can confirm that disconnecting the battery as Jampie describes solves the issue?

Our E-Pace has this issue, and we are now on week 4 of our vehicle being in the shop. Dealer has so far replaced the mode switch, the ABS module, and now the BCM module. Still no permanent solution - car still changes back to Comfort mode after a few minutes of driving. Apparently, the mode switch is wired into and through all of these hubs, so its difficult to pinpoint exactly where the designated mode is failing.

I've seen it on different forums and it's always software related not hardware.... I've had this problem once when it switched from Dynamic back to Comfort mode with the message "special drive modes not available" or so....but i've switched it back to Dynamic and it worked again....

I already got my car back from my dealer and it is fixed now!

To fix the issue (or lets better say: to fix my certain case), a software update was needed. It sounded like an update that is not installed by default, but rather on demand in certain cases when the described problem appears.

Maybe the description from my invoice can help you (or your dealer): „…communication problem in GWM and TCM SSM75499, deployed new patch for GWM“ (sorry, maybe the translation is wrong - I translated the German description from my invoice).
