Don't take the risk. I blast mine as on as the warning comes up. But...

Car shunted into the front of my car recently. Now in Listers for repair. As they have got the car, they are going to update the dpf software as apparently there is a recall due.

I managed to take it for a run and once on the motorway it cleared within ten mins of normal driving I agree not worth the risk, I've heard of people getting the amber warning and then going straight to red the same day and they've had to have their car picked up, hope yours is ok let us all know if you get any info on the dpf software issue

Driving with the DPF light on reduces the life of the engine oil, requiring you visit the main stealers for an early service, as soon as it comes on you need to do the regen to extinguish the light
