Can anyone tell me how the Service Interval Indicator actually works? I know that it is based on the number of starts and journeys completed but I am monitoring mine to try to anticipate when the oil service, that it says is due in about 6000 miles, will actually be required. The car, a P250 S, hasn't been driven since yesterday and, having just checked it again, there has been a further 100 miles taken off the counter. How can this possibly be correct when the vehicle has not even been started? At this rate it seems that it will be due in 60 days! I mostly do short journeys 10 - 20 miles or less and I understand that this will have a significant effect but when it has never moved and still the counter goes down I am baffled.

Regards to all, Oggie13.
