Could you take the base out of the boot to fit a space saver wheel

I ordered my car with a space saver spare wheel. It fits under the floor of the boot, but the polystyrene lining is shaped differently in order to accommodate the wheel.

Yes it is, completely different to fit the wheel size, jack, locking wheel nut etc., you don't get all of this with an aftermarket spare

You can buy the correct moulding for the boot floor which incorporates the spare wheel and tools. I got one for my cub and it was only £60 from Stratstone Newcastle. I was lucky enough to get a spare wheel on Ebay for £60 and bought an aftermarket 3tonne SUV jack and 21mm wheel brace. There are currently a couple of genuine E Pace jacks/wheel braces on Ebay at the moment for around £20. The base is a bit awkward to remove from the boot because it slots in like a jigsaw piece so you need to remove or loosen the carpeted side panels and the floor hooks to be able to swap the polystyrene bases without damaging them. Takes about half an hour to do.

Does having a spare wheel raise the boot floor?

I've got the spare wheel. The boot floor is level with the tailgate which I believe is the same in all models. I think that if you don't specify the spare wheel you get some storage space under the floor which is not available if you have the wheel.

I did not specify the spare so have the extra storage compartment.
Good to know that if I get an after market spare, plus the housing and tools, that the main boot space will not change.
