Keyless Entry technology

Post by alanmp » Sun Mar 22, 2020 9:58 am

JLR has introduced the use ultra-wide band (UWB) frequency in order to stop theft by relay scanners.
Can you confirm if all E-Pace models utilise this technology?

Good Morning Alanmp,

Thank you for your post.

After escalating your query with our Technical Team I can confirm that yes, E-Pace does utilise the ultra-wide band frequency technology to counteract relay scanners.

Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Many Thanks

That’s good news. It’s something Jaguar could make more of - its a good selling point, especially if BMW and the rest of the herd don’t have the same protection. Also I’ve wasted my money on two Faraday pouches.

Hi CRC@jaguar

Have all epace’s been built with uwb technology ?

Is it used on my epace chequered flag 2020 MY that was built in July 2019 ?

If so I can do away with carrying and storing the remote key in the faraday pouches that I previously used for my Jaguar XE

Or you can disable it just in case if not already known by following this procedure on below link.
