Bye bye E-Pace...

Post by Pickythemove » Fri Aug 23, 2019 6:54 am

After quite a bit of struggling, I have decided to trade in my P250 for a Audi A4 45 TFSI Sport quattro. Main reasons are the rather cheap quality of the interior, the sub-standard infotainment, the gear box and also the size of the E-Pace (I'm not a SUV guy after all...). I've lost a bit of money, but I got the Audi for a good price. Surely, it lacks the personality of a Jaguar, but it's reliable and state of the art...

Don't let them off easy in the Audi message boards, starting with the model name. And remember, Audi is a majority owner of the navigation/maps that JLR uses, along with BMW and Daimler, so please direct efforts over there.

I hate to say that, but driver assistance and infotainment are so much better with the Audi - it's worlds apart! Hard to believe that a brand like Jaguar can afford to stay behind like that...

I’m genuinely interested on how advanced your new Audi car will be in these areas compared to all of our E -Paces’ as I’m feeling a little inferior to you now.

Can you be specific on the details?

Many Thanks in advance.

Is it?

I've just had a new Audi on loan and apart from the screen having a higher resolution, I found the menus and performance of the driver 'aids' and infotainment counterintuitive and fussy.

After 2yrs I am trading in my R Dynamic S D180 AWD Manual for a 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport S P200 AWD Auto.I Have been pleased with the E Pace appart from the oil dilution problem with diesels hence going with the petrol Discovery. After 1yr I chose to have a oil service at 6223 miles at my cost hoping to avoid any dilution problems. This did not happen as at 9733 miles the oil service reminder came up.The service was done FOC by the dealer who said they would claim from Jaguar. The oil service came on again with 1800 mile warning which will take it to about 14000 miles when the 2yr service will be due.At 1400 miles the DPF light came on but cleared after 20 minute run,did not happen again.I added 20 litres of Ad Blue over my care.
Unfortunately in December I had to have a new windscreen due to a large stone damage. The fuel consumption has been very good with an average of 42mpg and have seen 53 mpg on some journeys.I know I will not low fuel consumption with the petrol Discovery but I do not enough miles for the modern day diesels. The Discovery Sport is being built in the next few weeks for delivery in February, looking forward to taking delivery.
