Possibly warranty issues?

Happily I negotiated a free first service to seal the deal when I bought the car.
April 2018, D180 R-Dynamic HSE in Fuji White. Black Pack, 20" black wheels, panoramic roof, privacy glass.

No issue with warranty if genuine parts are used and the correct specification of oil. The difference between the two is the hourly rate and the markup on parts. I find using a local independent results in a more thorough service with wheels off, calipers checked and eased etc. A franchised dealer wants it in and out as quickly as possible and on to the next so only cursory visual inspections are carried out.
Where it might hurt, is were you to sell privately in the future you wouldn't have the Jag stamps in the book but what you lose in the desirability of that, you'd have saved in servicing anyway.

Hi. Can any one tel me what a first service is likely to cost for a P200 R Dynamic S, from a Jag Dealer.

My P250 was £330 inc VAT last May.

It’s an on line service book that they print out and give you.
I know it's an online service book, far easier to put "stamps in the book" than "electrinically recorded service record accessible and printable from Jaguar website or your dealer"

If your car is still under warranty then you have to be very careful in not going to a JLR dealership for a service. Best read your warranty conditions !

The 1st service is due on my D180 next month and I have been quoted almost £480 by my dealership. I have a local specialist centre (https://www.dsautomotive.co.uk/) who quote this:

'DS Automotive provide Jaguar & Land Rover Servicing to Manufacturers Guidelines, Online Service History updated and Dealer Level Diagnostics and programming for all Jaguar & Land Rover models. Including the Freelander, Evoque, Range Rover, Sport, Discovery and Defender, E-Pace, F-Pace, XE, XF and F-Type.

They only charge £260 for the service! Would going with them cause any problems with warranty or my finance agreement? To be honest, I’ve had enough of my dealership. I’ve left 3 messages and haven’t had a call back so would rather go elsewhere.

European Block Exemption applies. (For now anyway)

"Block Exemption Regulation is an exemption in a business line or industry, which debars organizations in the industry from some business activities in order to create competition. The regulation is highly known in the automobile industry due to the effect caused by the BER regulations from the European Commission. [1] [2] BER has changed the automobile industry in the last decade. [3] Prior to 2003 automobile owners in the EU region risk nullifying their vehicle warranty when the vehicles were serviced or repaired in workshops not belonging to the vehicle manufacturer or its dealers. This barrier was broken in October 2003, when the European Commission (EC) passed a law allowing vehicle owners the freedom of having their servicing and repairs done at their chosen workshop. [4]
According to the UK Department of Business Education & Skills, the empowerment created by this law provides competition in the automobile industry as vehicle owners now have the opportunity to repair and service their vehicle at alternative workshops to the automobile manufacturers. BER provides automobile users the flexibility and benefit to reduce the amount spent on servicing, thereby providing consumers more choice and better value for money."

The independent garage must adhere to the service schedule and use genuine parts for the warranty to remain intact. Ask them to provide an itemised invoice with relevant part numbers to back up any potential claim under warranty.
