Service Cost

Post by WaywardFaun » Mon Mar 09, 2020 5:33 pm

I was booking my 2 year service for my P250 and was quoted over £750 on the booking form. This seems excessive for a 2 year 18,000 mile service. What is the normal service charge?

Hi
Just had my D150, 21K mile service, equates to approx 2 years. £319.00 + loads of coffee and biscuits whilst I waited the 2 hours.

Cannot complain at that.

Thank you. I have had a second quote from a second dealer much further away from me. £407. They will pick up the car and return it. Guess I will be using them.

Just picked up my Cheq Flag last week and was given option to get service plan (1 minor, 1major and 5 Adblue top ups) for £699 payable by direct debit, interest free. Apparently you can cancel and get money back or transfer to new Jag if you change cars.

My first service due in May, happily I got that thrown in for free when I bought the car late 2019.

Dealer forgot about the free service initially and today quoted me £799 for two services and all ad blue top ups. They said without a plan the first service would be £487 and the second service a very precise £555.40.

Seems to be huge variation between dealers.

About to have 1st. service, asked three dealers for price, Inchcape Preston failed to reply and I purchased it from them, Farnell Bolton want £455, Williams Manchester £350, guess where I'm going.

Just had my first service, took out a service plan when I bought the car. Total invoiced (to service plan company) was just over £200. I mentioned it was a good price, but was told, if paying myself it would be nearly double that!

When I have to pay for services, I’m going to follow PhilS but take the family! Drink their coffee, eat the biscuits and get the kids to empty the dealers fridge of soft drinks.....
