After my Jaguar dealer failed to sell me a litre of the correct oil, they suggested going to the Land Rover dealer (same company) over the road as they might sell it, which they did . . .

Don't know if your car is diesel or petrol. If diesel I assume it takes same oil as my Xe did. Halfords sell Petronas oil of the right specification.

Millers Oils XF Longlife 0w-30 Ford Fully Synthetic Engine Oil

Although the oil filler cap recommends Castrol oils, their own regfinder will not deliver a result.
