Exhaust Corrosion - Rust

Post by Puggy » Thu May 14, 2020 11:14 am

I purchased a new E Pace in January and noticed rusting on the exhaust. I reached out to Jaguar Customer Experience Centre directly to query this as the car is just 5 months old and to my astonishment their solutions engineer has came back to say that this is normal. I have never seen anything like this and we also have a XE which is approaching 3 years old and again nothing like this.

Reaching out here to see if anyone else has experienced this issue and struggling to get ahold of the dealer as they are currently only open for essential workers.

Is this normal?...

See the attached photos.

Thanks

It;s helpful of them to point out that exhausts are under the car and close to the road surface..!

That does look quite badly corroded to be honest, particularly when other parts seem okay. How are the brake discs?

There’s much less corrosion on mine, after more than two years and 20000 miles. See below. Do they put a lot of salt on the roads round your way?

Thanks for sharing the pic @mfl This looks much the same as our XE that’s why I think the rust on the EPace is highly unusual with only 2500 miles on it. I’ve never had any of my cars with an exhaust go as bad as this and so quick!
